Which protective suits are available and for which sectors are they suitable?

There are different types of protective suits depending on the area of application. When choosing, it is important to pay attention to the specific requirements:
  • Medical protective suits: Protection against viruses & bacteria
  • Chemical protective suits: Barrier against hazardous liquids & gases
  • Flame-retardant protective suits: Especially for work with high heat exposure
  • Dust and particle protection suits: For handling fine dusts & fibres
  • B15 Radioactive protective suits: Protection against radiation & contaminated particles

Which protective suit is the right one for your application?

The most important criterion in the selection process is the protective effect. Ask yourself:
  • What hazardous substances are present in the area of use?
  • What conditions prevail at the workplace (temperature, humidity, chemicals)?
  • Which legal requirements must be met?

Tested safety - quality you can rely on

Our coveralls fulfil the highest safety standards. Whether it's the CoverStar CS500 chemical protection suit, the flame-retardant CoverTex FR or the highly functional CoverChem CP500 - all models have been tested and certified by official testing institutes.

Categories & protection classes of protective suits

What PPE categories are there?

Protective clothing is divided into three PPE categories:
  • Category I: Protection against minor risks (e.g. simple dust suits)
  • Category II: Standard protection against medium risks (e.g. particle protection suits)
  • Category III: Protection against fatal or serious health hazards (e.g. chemical protective suits)

What types of protective suit are there?

Protective suits are categorised into six types according to the EN standard:
  • Type 1 (EN 943-1): Gas-tight chemical protection suit
  • Type 2 (EN 943-1): Protection against liquid chemicals
  • Type 3 (EN 14605): Liquid-tight protective clothing
  • Type 4 (EN 14605): Spray-tight protective suit
  • Type 5 (EN ISO 13982-1): Protection against solid particles & dusts such as asbestos & fibreglass
  • Type 6 (EN ISO 13034): Limited protection against liquids
The choice of the right type of protective suit depends on the area of application. For example, our protective suits with the minimum requirement of category 3 and type 5 and 6 or higher offer a large selection of protective clothing for asbestos disposal.

Comfort meets safety - protective suits with a sophisticated design

A protective suit only fulfils its purpose reliably if it not only protects, but is also comfortable to wear. An uncomfortable model that does not fit properly is often worn incorrectly or incompletely - with considerable safety risks.
That's why we at ASATEX rely on a combination of ergonomic fit, clever safety details and high-quality workmanship. Our coveralls offer wearers in industrial or medical environments the comfort they need for long periods of wear without compromising on protection.

Ergonomic design for better comfort

  • Flexible hoods & elasticated cuffs that fit perfectly
  • Large zip pullers that are easy to operate even when wearing gloves
  • With our extensive range of sizes from xs to 5xl to cover all needs
An optimally designed protective suit not only improves the wearer's acceptance, but also actively increases work safety in everyday life.

Maximum safety through functional details

In addition to comfort, the focus is clearly on the protective function. That's why our protective suits have technical features that provide additional safety:
  • Double zip covers to protect against the ingress of particles and liquids
  • Taped seams & adhesive strips that reliably seal critical transitions
  • Integrated thumb loops & elasticated cuffs for a secure fit and optimum freedom of movement
The combination of intelligent design and proven protection makes our coveralls the ideal choice for use in safety-critical areas - from laboratories to emergency services and industrial production.

In the ASATEX online shop you will find high-quality disposable protective coveralls, chemical protective coveralls and flame-retardant coveralls for a wide range of work areas.

Can a disposable protective suit be used several times?

No, disposable protective suits are designed for single use. Re-use can impair the protective function and is therefore not recommended as a health hazard.

Can a protective suit be worn over normal clothing?

Yes, our protective suits are designed so that they can be worn over work clothing without restricting mobility. Shoes must be worn separately.
