Work gloves
Our hands are in daily use - when carrying, assembling, sorting, lifting or cutting. They are exposed to numerous risks: from cuts and bruises to chemical or thermal hazards. A reliable work glove not only protects against acute injuries, but also prevents long-term skin damage and restrictions in everyday working life. This is why work gloves are an essential piece of basic equipment for any personal protective equipment (PPE).
Which work gloves are available from ASATEX?
ASATEX offers a wide range of work gloves that are tailored to different activities, industries and protection requirements. These include cut protection gloves, chemical protection gloves, leather gloves, nitrile gloves as well as PU and knitted gloves. Each of these glove types has been developed to combine optimum protection, functionality and comfort - for daily use in demanding working environments.
Which work gloves protect against cuts?
Cut protection gloves are specially designed to prevent injuries caused by sharp edges, tools or splintering materials. They are made from high-strength, cut-resistant fibres and, depending on the model, meet cut protection classes C to F in accordance with EN 388. Despite their sturdy construction, they offer an amazingly good sense of touch - some of our models are even suitable for use with touchscreens. They therefore combine protection and precision and are particularly popular in areas such as dismantling, metalworking, glass processing or assembly, where safe and sensitive work is essential.
What is the difference between nitrile, latex and leather gloves?
The difference lies primarily in the material properties, protective function and area of application. Nitrile gloves are made of synthetic rubber and are particularly resistant to oils, greases and chemicals. They offer reliable protection and grip as well as a high degree of freedom of movement. They are also often allergy-friendly as they do not contain latex.
Latex gloves, on the other hand, are very elastic and supple. They enable fine work, but offer less protection against oily substances and can trigger allergies on sensitive skin.
Leather gloves are extremely mechanically robust. They provide reliable protection for heavy-duty work, for example in construction, dismantling or rough material handling. Leather insulates well, is durable and ideal for applications where abrasion or impact protection is required.
Which type of glove is right for you therefore depends on whether sensitivity, chemical resistance or mechanical resilience is the priority.
What are the advantages of PU and knitted gloves?
PU and knitted gloves are a good choice when it comes to delicate work. They mould comfortably to the hand, remain flexible even when worn for long periods and offer secure handling thanks to their grip. Whether assembling small components or working with sensitive tools - PU and knitted gloves provide a high degree of control and comfort.
What standards apply to work gloves?
Depending on the area of application, work gloves must comply with certain standards in order to guarantee verifiable protection. The most important standard in the area of mechanical risks is EN 388, which rates gloves based on several criteria such as abrasion resistance, cut resistance, tear resistance and puncture resistance - the higher the values, the more robust the glove.
EN 374 is relevant for handling chemicals or microorganisms. It regulates the permeability and duration of protection against certain chemicals and biohazardous substances.
Anyone working in extreme temperatures should look out for models that are tested in accordance with EN 407 (heat protection) or EN 511 (cold protection). In addition, all work gloves sold in Europe must bear the CE mark, which confirms compliance with basic safety requirements.
In which industries are work gloves used?
ASATEX work gloves are used in numerous sectors: in the construction industry, for demolition and dismantling work, in metal processing, in the municipal sector, in the food industry or in laboratories and cleaning services. We offer the right hand protection for every requirement - certified, tested and designed for practical use.
What should I do if I have sensitive skin or allergies?
Latex-free materials such as nitrile or PU are recommended for employees with sensitive skin. Cotton gloves can also be worn as undergloves to avoid skin contact with external materials. These are breathable, absorbent and more comfortable to wear - especially during long periods of use.
